“We just finished a nearly two year project to get our roof replaced after one of the worst hailstorms in our memory. Over a nearly 45 year period in Colorado, living in two different homes, this was not our first roof replacement, but it was by far our best. We used Excel Roofing, with Alex Rose as our main supervisor.

The process of finding people we felt we could truly trust was lengthy and grueling. Given our ages, we wanted this to quite possibly be the last roof we will ever need. We chose a specially treated steel roof impregnated with granite and formed into a tile profile, designed to be as hail and fire resistant as possible. Trevor was raised on a farm in northwestern Wyoming, where hard work, discipline, and follow-through were not optional, and they were daily expectations. In 2009, he moved to Colorado to attend Colorado Mesa University, where he wrestled throughout college. That wrestling mindset push through adversity, stay focused, finish what you start still defines how he approaches roofing projects today.

After college, Trevor spent 10 years working for a consulting firm before transitioning into home improvement professionally in 2025. Construction had always been part of his life. He worked in the trades during summers in high school and college and even installed three roofs with a friend’s father as a teenager. Stepping fully into roofing felt like returning to something familiar.

Over the past year, Trevor has worked hands-on installing asphalt shingle systems and multiple metal roofing projects. Metal roofing especially reinforced the importance of precision.

Originally from Austin, Texas, JD spent much of his childhood there before relocating to Denver, Colorado, to pursue a career in the trades.
